Coastal Bend residents wanting to get more information about college applications, GED classes and trade certifications soon won’t have to look much farther than the mall.
An education resource center, called Coastal Compass, plans to open in the fall in an exterior storefront on the South Padre Island Drive side of La Palmera through a partnership.
The estimated 2,200-square-foot space aims to provide free advising for high school-age students and adults seeking information about programs such as literacy classes, General Education Development diplomas, certification sources or college enrollment.
